When the snow and ice finally thaw and things start to turn green again, that’s a perfect time to explore Connecticut. Walk the shoreline or head for the hills, Connecticut offers many spring activities.

Spring Festivals, Flowers and Family Fun

Celebrate springtime and the warmer weather with a visit to one of the state’s many seasonal festivals and events this April and May. Gather the family and friends for an outing. It’s time to get outside and enjoy springtime in Connecticut. Here are some ideas of how to celebrate spring in Connecticut this season.

Bridgeport in Bloom

Come see over 40,000 snowdrops, crocus, daffodils, tulips, alliums and other bulbs bloom in sequence at Bridgeport’s colorful Colorblends House & Spring Garden from April 1 through May 11.

Classic Gardens in Washington

The Hollister House & Garden located in Washington Opening Weekend is April 22-23. Celebrate springtime with a new season in the garden.

Blossoms in the City

This year’s New Haven Cherry Blossom Festival takes place April 24. It commemorates the planting of 73 cherry trees in 1973. It features live entertainment, arts and crafts, and a great range of food.

Daffodils on the Estate

Spend a day outdoors with nature activities, scavenger hunt, and exploring the grounds of the historic Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown during the annual Daffodil Day on April 24.

Daffodils in Meriden

Delight in springtime and 600,000 blooming daffodils at the Daffodils Festival in Meriden’s Hubbard Park during the festival weekend on April 30 through May 1. It’s a festival of fun for the entire family, with arts and crafts, live music, fireworks, carnival rides, a parade, a food tent, and so much more.
