Spring Things to do in Fairfield County

Winter has passed! There are loads of fun things to do now that the air is warm and the sun is shining.

Flower Power:

The first colorful blooms of spring bring a sense of renewal to our souls. Check out the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens and Goodbody Garden in Stamford, the 40 acre New Canaan Nature Center, Weir Farm National Historic Site in Ridgefield, and the Colorblends House & Spring Garden in Bridgeport.

Take a Hike:

It’s time to venture into the great outdoors in search of fresh air and exercise. Walkers, joggers, hikers and bikers have discovered the wondrous parks, forests and trails in Fairfield County. Check out The Mianus River Park, Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens, New Canaan Nature Center, Norwalk River Valley Trail, Connecticut Audubon Society, Trout Brook Valley State Park Reserve, Hemlock Hills, Pine Mountain and the Aspetuck Land Trust, and more.

Ride a Bike:

Get energized on an invigorating bike ride. If you don’t own a bike, you can rent one from River Bicycles in Greenwich, Danny’s Cycles in Stamford, or Cycleology Bike & Ski in Westport.

Have Some Chocolate:

Chocolate is to be enjoyed by everyone. Check out Knipschildt Chocolatier, Isabelle et Vincent, Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shop, Bridgewater Chocolate Factory and Noteworthy Chocolates. Satisfy your sweet tooth and make a visit to one of these chocolatiers.

Sip Some Suds:

Visit some of the many craft breweries in the area. Check out Half Full Brewery, Charter Oak Brewing Company, Nod Hill Brewery, Redding Beer Company, NewSylum Brewing Co., and Reverie Brewing Co. Many of these breweries are in refurbished factory buildings, train stations, farmhouses, old hospitals, and even churches.

Search for Treasure:

The Connecticut Antiques Trail is a treasure hunter’s dream come true. So, make a day or weekend of it and visit any of these antique shops; Black Rock Antiques Center, Antique & Artisan Gallery, Glen Antique & Design Center, Stratford Antique Center and more.

Go Fish – Charter Style:
